Default Tips for Flying off Snow

I am getting ready to try to fly with floats off of snow. Any tips?
My plane is a GP Cub 40 with GP floats.

Snow? I think I've heard of it but not sure what it is; can you elaborate?

Might need to hold full up till it gets moving a little. Some try to rock forward and dig in if you don't. Once it's moving, let up on the elevator, let it pick up speed, then lift off normally. A few need you to hold a little up during the whole run. Flying off snow is a blast!

I don't know about that. Snow offers a lot more drag than water. A flat bottomed hull like a seamaster would work well, but I think a Cub might be a handfull.

Let us know how you made out!

Snow? I LOVE flying off snow! Put a little ski wax on the bottom of your floats and be ready for some fast action. My flying partner and I fly off a frozen lake and the best part is we don't need a recovery boat.
