Hey Matt,

Here's my seamaster with a OS 46 FX, ultrathrust muffler, and a fiberglass specialties pod.

very nice, now i see that most people have a special muffler, such as a tuned pipe or yours for example... what is the reason for it? also, is your pod the one that came with the plane itself? u did a great job with the cut out, ill have an OS .46 LA running mine

anone else have pics? ill get some of my plane in progress shortly

Matt,
While building the SM it seemed pretty heavy, so I added the ultrathrust muffler, which adds about 1,000 rpm to the stock 46FX. After flying it, I don't think it was really needed - seamasters don't know there're overweight! If that bugger ever drops off in flight its going to make a very expensive splash. The pod is a fiberglass replacement for the vacu formed plastic that came with the kit. Again not needed, but it finishes nicer and is sturdier.

ok thanks, we'll have to keep in touch as my plane comes to a finish, this is my first seaplane, so i might have a few simple questions like where to use the rubber silicone.. just small questions like that...plus building and locating a few things since the ARF's instructions (to me anyways) are pretty vauge. this is my 3rd plane and 1st sea plane so building experience isnt quite there but i have been flying for a few good years =D
