Has anyone seen an Uproar or similar fun-fly type plane on floats? I am thinking of trying it and wonder how the performance will suffer. I imagine it would still outfly the Cubs and Seamasters everyone else seems to fly at the lake. Any suggestions about which floats? I am thinking of whipping up some white foam ones, they seem to work fine on my old Kadet...

An Uproar should be very capable on floats. At our field Uproars are flown with .46 engines and enlarged tail feathers. Quite aerobatic and very controllable all of which should be an asset for float flying. I haven't tried it yet but I think a water rudder would be an essential.

Uproar is a great float plane. If you have not built it put the servo's on top of the wing, it helps keep the water out. Three pilots including myself have had an uproar on floats, we used the Gee Bee long floats. Each plane had an OS 46FX. You will love it and prefprmance is still great.
