ACE Seamaster throws

Just finished assembly on the ACE seamaster ARF. Was very impressed with its construction. Directions advise for 1/2 inch travel in each direction for elevator and ailerons with 1 inch for the rudder... Seems like quite a bit for the elevator and ailerons, however the rudder seems perfect. If anyone's got a minute and a measure tape, let me know where you ended up with on yours. Am leaning toward 1/4 inch on ailerons and elevator. At 1/2 it's actually wanting to bind just a bit on the ailerons and working the servo too hard. Thanks: Glenn

It is pretty responsive at the suggested settings, but then it depends on what you want the plane to do. If you have the capability on the radio, set the dual settings so that you have the recommended setting on on throw and a milder, less throw on the second rate. If you got twichy thumbs, try the low rate first. The plane is a piece of cake to fly and quite aerobatic with the righ motor, e.g. OS 46FX or above.

One note of caution -- the Seamaster ARF can snap put of a loop or hard pull-up if you have too much elevator throw & apply it abruptly. This is a speed-sensitive response, so avoid full elev pull-ups at low altitude &/or high speed (like a split-S) until you have tried it out at a safe altitude.

Yeehaw. Took her out today and she flew great. Was amazed at how li'l trim was needed. 1 click up and 2 to the left... Did a few loops with it at full elevator at high speed and didn't have any problems, but it did take a lot of rudder to keep her in line. The TTPro46 performed flawlessly and puuled it with authority. The wheels are coming off, gonna silicone the holes and get in the water next weekend. Thanks for the replies.
