Default Santa Fe Dam Float Fly Next Wknd.

July 16th (Sat.)

Can't wait for this one!! Last year it rained throughout much of the day, but some of the most determined guys (my Father included) still flew and had a ball... The lake is beautiful, and the host club was very cool and laid back, so this year should be even better than last with the great weather thats forcast for next wknd.

My Dad and i will be there, who else will ??

Hi:

I plan on being there along with a bunch of my friends.

I was told that it was only for club members of either Santa Fe Dam or Whittier Narrows.

Even if it is, still come. I am sure they will let you in. I can always say you are my guests!!!

How did you find about this event??/

COME ON GUYS,

Are Joe and my Dad and I the onlt three going to this GEM of a little event ???? I guess i could be bummed at the poor responce to this thread, but really i guess it just meens way more flying time for the three of us, so it's all good

OOOOPSEE

Guess i should have re-read the thread before todays reply, my bad.

Well According to Mark, one of the Santa Fe members i talked to last wknd., it's open, but has not been advertised, looking to keep it small and laid back. On balance, we had a blast at last years event, even though it rained throughout much of the day, we still managed to fly the snot out of my Dads Cessna.

We'll be there early in the morning, and plan to tear it up all day............looking forward to it, and as an aside, i'll be testing my new Ready II

It's all good here Scott....Hey I just want to fly the water plane and have some fun...... If it's a closed deal for the SFD Dudes............. Nada Prob.

Scott by the way. I'm moveing from IV. to H.B., from the 15th to the 30th. But that won't stop me from flyin a day or two.... Juz been stress-n a bit packin up the toys.

I had to add, that there is'nt that many guys flyin water stuff in the 605 / 210 frwy area..... + my Dad built that DAMM Dam.

Joe, have you SFD or Whittier Narrows guys ever have a problem flying over "Gang" airspace? It's been over thirty years since I've been to the SFD, have things changed much ?, I used to live in Duarte until I got robbed working at the old Mobil gas station there at the end of the 210 Freeway [ next to the Albertsons store ] MM

No problem, we leave the locals alone after dark and they leave us alone during the day. Can't leave any equipment there though, or it will be destroyed, gone or both. They usually leave the porta-can alone because they use it also.

Got it, sent reply

For everyone else,

WE HAD A FREAKIN BLAST TODAY Allmost perfect weather and conditions, smallish turnout, but that provided those of us there with more flying time, no waiting for freq's. Smooth water all day, it was just great! My Dad and i logged over a dozen flights between us
