I would like to hear your oppinion before proceeding !

My idea is using fiber-glass/epoxy over 3mm Depron for formers and skin on a pair of medium-sized floats.

Maybe glassing both sides of the Depron to form a Sandwich construction.

Could this be a good idea or should I just stick to traditional methods ?

Cheers,
Ikaros

It's worth exploring. Apparently depron is light and reasonably strong. Here is a web page with designs and techniques for some previous uses in model planes, maybe this will be useful to you.
