An interesting project, at least you won't see another one at the beach.
Where do you fellows fly? I'm going to be on the island this summer (probably August) up around Alberni for a week or so. I hope to bring a float plane with me.

Darren
I was at the Alberni fun fli this last summer and met a bunch of nice guys. (Arn't we all?) I was looking for other float flies that I might drop in on during the summer during my travels. I hope to be at the Alberni site again this August so I should meet you there. I hope to have my twin seaplane done by then.
The Alberni site has to be one of the best float fly sites anywhere. Even if I don't have a plane I'll show up. I'm staying with relatives at Sproat lake which is just a short distance from there.

Thanks for the offer Darren, that's very generous. I've got plenty of planes, Northstar, Supermarine S5, and I hope soon, my twin. I'm sure I'll have at least one with me. My only problem is room in my vehicle. Getting onto the island is very expensive especially since I will be towing my sailboat trailer which makes the whole rig about 35' long. Around here I have a utility trailer which I made a lid for. It will hold two or three planes along with a whole bunch or other stuff, like my inflatable for retrieving.

Slowly but surely... Having some trouble finding 49" floats for her. Have got a line on some Edo double fluted ones that are 48" so will try and get more info on them...There from Zimpro Marketing and just wondering if any one has used these floats?
Thanks to Seacommander I asked them 1st but theirs are 46" so they gave me Zimpros name....
Also how is stuff coming across the boarder these days, been a while since I ordered from the states?

Zimpro floats are hand-laid epoxyglass, and are scale EDOs. Very much like seacommanders, but not copies. He has been making them for about 7 years.

Hi Darren
Received my copies of the CAHS journals a few days ago, and was very pleased with the quality of the 3 view drawing in Vol 19.
Looks like your making good progress on your Husky , have you decided on which Husky paint scheme you will be replicating.
Up here Sling an X Husky pilot him self is also keeping an eye on your progress as he says that he loved to fly CF-EIM.
Thanks for the lead : Doug

I am going to do it up as a Nickel Belt one. All silver with red wings, tail fethers, and stripes on the fuse sides. My dad remembers these when he was just a wee-lad living in Sudbury...Don't know what CF-??? yet. Also got the plug for the cowl today, uncle turned a MDF one for me on his lathe. 9.5" at fire wall 6.5 at front....
