Default First Seaplane

I was thinking of getting a seaplane for Christmas.
I was looking at the parkflyers.com Hybrid-Air.
http://parkflyers.com/ParkFlyersHybrid.pdf
This is nice sized, electric and RTF.
However, the review makes me think it wouldn't make a good first seaplane.
I need electric for the lake in the housing development where I live.
I prefer something already set up with the proper drive system.
I normally fly glow and electric is a little new to me - lots of decisions to be made.

Can someone recommend a plane?

Thanks,
