KMP Cessna 185 Floats

KMP Cessna 185 Floats
I am wondering if any one has set this plane up on floats. On mine none of the brackets fit properly and the step is 1 1/2" in front of the C of G. Is this like the Beaver and nothing is right and you have to completly redo everything or what. Am getting a little discouraged, Any help.

I also bought one and am woundering if this is exclusively for Cessna 185.
The color is red and black stripe over white base, not orange and black which
is the color of Cessna 185 I bought at the same time.
I heven't started building my Cessna 185 so I don't know if this float fits correctly.
