Default First Attempt At A Float PLane........

I built my first float plane and I can't wait to try it out. This a Hobbico Electristar converted to glow and made into a float plane. I learned a lot here by reading the how-to's on setting up a float plane and it seems balanced and ready to go. Opinions welcome!! Thank you.

Very nice job Brainiax. That float setup should work very well on the water. On a high wing airplane, you will usually need either water rudders or an enlarged air rudder. My preference would be the larger (2x) air rudder because it will also help tracking in the air.

Hi, I haven't tried it yet but I'm pretty sure the electric set-up would have been way under powered for the floats.

jrf, I have a set of the water rudders but I'm not sure how to set it up yet. What's this air rudder look like? Just an extension?

Just add an extension on the back of the existing rudder. Then steer at taxi speed with bursts of throttle. Simple and clean.
