Default flaps

I have a lanier 40 mariner float plane< I want to build some flaps for the wing, This plane will NOT slow down for landing. "I also think the wing is to short, put that is another subject" Has anyone out there put flaps on this type of model? I need some type of plans or some type of info about how to go about this.
Thanks JC.

The mariner 40 should slow down nicely. If yours doesn't it is very probably nose-heavy.

Try shifting some weight (Battery?) rearward.

Well, when I have had a plane that would not slow down it was tail heavy, but check your balance anyway.
