Just wondering if a this setup would be enough to fly a World Models Piper Cub 40 on floats?
HIMARK 35mm OUTRUNNER BRUSHLESS MOTOR 990rpv
3200mA 25C 11.1V Lipo
60amp esc
thanks

A .40 size plane on 3S, I very much doubt it - even less chance with it being on floats.
If you have the weight of the model and the props you can/intend to use with it we can calculate the thrust and then compare it to the weight.
Scott.

well i had it on another seaplane that was plan built and designed around a .25 but i went something closer to .40, then plane moved along very quick, it weight 5lb, the only reason i never flew it after general taxi tests is that it has a flaw in its old design and would dig its outer wing floats in once on plane. The World Models piper is 5.5lb at 71inches. Im not great with electrics and I remember choosing this set up for being close to a .40 size if this helps at all. Plus i think it has an 11x6 prop on it

11.1 volts x 990 kv at 90% efficient gives you approx a max rpm of 10989 on an 11x6 providing you are within specs of the motor and ESC and can achieve the rpm on that prop your maximum thrust is about 3.67 lb @ 337 watts, if it's the cub I think it is (blue and white) then it should weigh 5.5lbs less floats so that gives you about 60 watts per lb so I would imagine it would work but your power train will be working very hard at least on take off . . . (and this is less float weight and trying to get of the water)
I think the above is correct, anybody else?
If it were me I would see if could use 4S on your motor and ESC or go up a prop size?

I put up a similar setup on realflight and showed it flying, obviously its just a sim but oh well, but now ive been told from the misses to not buy anything and that she will, so it will be either a cub with floats or the seagull spacewalker ep
