RE: Install on my Comp arf spark

Thats great info Tony. I'll definitely look into all that before committing to this conversion. I'm pretty sure it's going to come close to 12lbs. The Carf fuel tank is 37oz and Tams tank for the...

RE: Install on my Comp arf spark

Wow.. thanks for the heads up Dr Honda. I suppose if I'm a bit under weight I can just add a very large nimh rx pack or even lead. That would be ok right? My current edf spark flys fine at 12lbs...

RE: Install on my Comp arf spark

Thanks for the info guys. I'm afraid I might be underwhelmed with the performance on the wren44 but it still sounds like the best choice. This is my first turbine so keeping it light will be a higher...

RE: Behotec Wheels

I also left a message the other day with no response. Are they the only dealer in North America?

RE: Install on my Comp arf spark

Hi Guys,

I'm currently flying a 12lb edf version and I'm now considering converting my spare spark to Turbine. Bringing back this thread because it seems to have the best install pics (thanks...

RE: FUNJET

Also which radar gun? Quality guns are very accurate. As long as it wasn't a bushnell or equivalent, you are good. As for the video, all we need is clean audio of level passes in both directions. ...

RE: Turbine Glider???

I've owned several opus including a double carbon. One of my favorites! They have actually gone much faster without the turbine :)

Not a scale glider, but the fastest turbine glider I've seen. Very impressive.

RE: Reccomendations for Gas powered electric generator

I was at an electric event yesterday and I saw the Harbor Freight 800 watt generator. It was much smaller than I remembered. It is noticeably louder than the honda that was nearby. Those little...

RE: Reccomendations for Gas powered electric generator

They weigh 45lbs each! I put them on a milk crate and dolly them to the pits. Costco sells this wonderful little foldaway dolly for $20.

RE: Kevlar tape /

I had a live hinged flap come off of one of my sailplanes. I used a bead of silicone glue and it held just fine at very high speeds. It makes for a very clean and super solid repair. Would this be...

RE: Reccomendations for Gas powered electric generator

I was tempted to buy that generator from Harbor Freight. I figured long term reliability would be horrible so I would have purchased the extended 1yr warranty as well. I figured I could buy a new...

RE: CARF SPARK & BVM-EVF2

the EVF2 is a 120mm fan. My 110mm fan barely fits. Are you sure it was the EVF2?

RE: 200mph electric jet? $400-$1000 budget??

For all out speed on a budget, F5D pylon racers are the best bang for the buck. Plus they lose very little speed in the turns so they are incredibly impressive to watch. Around $700 will get you...

RE: 9lbs thrust, is it enough?

I'm running a 1512/2y on 10s 5000 zippy, tj100 fan. 3200 watts static. Makes my Spark do around 150mph level flight.

RE: FUNJET

rino, I would highly recommend trying the skid tape from hobby people. It's the stuff the rc car guys used to protect the bottom of their chassis. Just stick a thin strip on the bottom and it lasts...

RE: FUNJET

Most good motors can are fine if you keep them under 200F. I've been running my arc motors at 180F for a while with no probs.

RE: FUNJET

Hobby people sells this rc car chassis guard that is basically a thick slick sticker. I use the stuff on my pylon racers and land them on asphalt. The stuff lasts forever.

RE: FUNJET

rino,

I would hold on to that mega 15/25/3. You may get bored with the a light setup and yearn for more speed (happens to me all the time). Funjet comes down nice and slow with my heavy setup.

RE: FUNJET

The ARC 28-47-1.5 is a very proven 130mph setup on 4s with 6x4 prop and 80 amp controller.

Read this thread. Tons of good info

RE: FUNJET

I think you should build your power system around a 6" prop. 16/15/3 is gonna be pushing that little motor really hard on 4s unless you go with a 5" or smaller prop.
