RE: Battle submarines?

would be cool to hook up cameras to the front of each sub .. that way you could take aim and launch the torpedo [>:]

RE: new micro sub

yeah I've been waiting for a mini sub with a ballast tank for quite a while - we have a ~11x11' backyard koi pond that's a couple feet deep (soon to be around 4' deep) - very open and should be great...

RE: Sea Scout

Oh yes. I tried it first in my really mucky pond. That didn't work well because the muck got stuck in the propellers. Then I tried it in a small pool which I liked a lot better.

RE: looking for sub

I have absolutely no idea on what to get for scratchbuilding one. (besides basic equipment like radio and motor)
I looked around for suitable submarine models to convert. Is this one ok??

RE: looking for sub

As I said before, I'm going back and forth on this decision. The cost of the seawolf will be a little less than the deep dive VI (which is $140 plus $95 shipping). I probably won't get a sub at all...

RE: looking for sub

I am a beginner at rc subs (except for the mini explorer sub:eek:). Scratchbuilding one is tempting. If I did scratchbuild a simple one (w/out ballast tanks), would it be more or less expensive? It...

RE: looking for sub

I found that a micro switch was needed for the speed control. Can't I just use a 3-channel radio instead??

Also, I found that shipping cost would be about $95 and the actual kit would be $135. ...

RE: looking for sub

Well, I looked at the sub ($133), added the shipping costs [:@] ($94). Then I added the $170-80 of accessories. Total cost would be about $400. :( I think that if I could somehow order it from the...

RE: looking for sub

Never mind about the Graupner Shark! :) I read more into a review. I now can understand why it's not such a good buy.

Well, I don't know what I'm going to do now. My only hope is to get the...

RE: graupner shark

I'm going back and forth on this decision! I looked at the Akula sub. It is about $300 total. I've heard that it is pretty good. The seawolf is much cooler, though.[&o]

Anyways, i probably...

looking for sub

I looked at the Graupner Shark. I don't think it would cost much more than $200 with all of the parts. I know I can't afford anything else (maybe the Akula). I don't care much about lack of space...

RE: graupner shark

I looked around for the robbe seawolf. I liked the looks a lot better, but the total cost would be over $600 with all of the accessories. [:@]

I'll still look around, but if I don't find...

RE: graupner shark

thanks, I'll look around for the Seawolf. By the way, I don't want to spend more than $200-$300 on anything. Will the Seawolf cost more than $300?

Besides little space, is the graupner shark ok?

RE: graupner shark

This is the first time i've gotten a sub this big (i know its not that big), so i'm kind of confused on what to get exactly. I looked at towerhobbies.com but couldn't find a 6-cell 7.2V 1200mAh...
