RE: balsa novi 120 from morris

You need the torque. 645's are a way better choice. You can't really feel the slow speed during normal flight. Maybe a touch in high alpha, but nothing to worry about. It's kind of funny on the...

RE: balsa novi 120 from morris

I had 645's on elevators for a while. They are plenty strong. Just a little slow. They worked fine. I did run them on 6v.

RE: balsa novi 120 from morris

Heh. 2 lbs. For that kind of weight you might as well slam a 70cc gas on it. ;)

Mine has a Moki 2.10. 5945's in the tail. 6975's on rons. Elevator is extended 3". Rudder could be as well, but...

RE: airplane and engine knock offs, knockoffs

Heh. Volfy that was my original response as well. If you look in the other thread they had the 100 and others that were dead on copies. From these two motors I couldn't figure out what the fuss was...

RE: GMS 47 tuning problem

Yeah I spotted that pic in the other thread flyboy. Thanks. Haven't tried that mod. I'm pretty sure the brass from my original, perfect but broken, carb is fine so I may just swap them out. I'm...

RE: GMS 47 tuning problem

Cool FlyBoy. Not enough systematic testing on these little guys, imho. (Sorry I can't bring myself to wade through that huge thread)

Did you consider that maybe you have a 'good one'?....

RE: GMS 47 tuning problem

I'll bet even if you put a pump on it for dead even pressure it will do the same thing. I've had both kinds of GMS's as well. The perfect one out of the box and the one that Harry describes that is...

RE: Moki 2.10 won't start

Heh. Wet to me is when I pull my finger off the carb it is literally wet and you will see fuel. Probably 6-7 strokes with throttle WOT then back to idle to start. I've never seen one flooded, as...

RE: Moki 2.10 won't start

When mine was brand new, say 1 gallon on this engine, she liked a starter. Now she is prime till very wet. 1 backflip every time. I crank the heat up pretty good as well. FAI or 5% for me. When she's...

RE: Saito 1.50 converted to Ignition

What is the benefit of this? I think I'm reading. Slower idle. Good transitions. Less nitro. Easier starting? I love ch for gas, but most of the Saito's I know run great as is. This ain't a cheap...

RE: Moki 2.10 carburetor removal?

Good luck getting her back in shape. It's always a little nerve wracking taking a hammer or big wrench to something like this. In fact it makes me queezy on your behalf. Usually all it takes is a...

RE: 50sx/50sxh bearing failures

I don't post a lot on airplane boards. But have been reading most of them for years. I think many airplane pilots just opt for the the 46 instead due to the price difference. Baxter probably knows...

RE: 50sx/50sxh bearing failures

The engine on my plane gets a lot less of a work out. Never sees more than 14K and for 3d it spends a LOT of time under 1/2 throttle or even 1/4. Lots of variable throttle. My heli goes straight to...

RE: 50sx/50sxh bearing failures

First things first. I love my50sxh and my Hyper. The Hyper is one of the sweetest engines out there, imho. Mine get run in helis and on planes. I was hoping on a plane it would last 'forever'. Not...

RE: how many airplanes have you lost to the EVOLUTION 1.00

This was a tough crowd. I don't have one of these, probably never will. But I've run all kinds of motors that people told me were no good. Most of them just take a little patience and knowledge. A...

RE: la.40 hop ups

Most of the 'engine based' classes are pretty well defined for the mods you can make. Can you switch out the carb and muffler or are you restricted to stock part modification? Can someone buy your...

RE: GMS .47

You don't have to rev this motor over 13K unless you're pylon racing. Your rpm numbers look fine and comparable to OS.

Only performance gain by dropping pitch is more thrust less speed. 12x4,...

RE: Poulan 42 Education

Thanks. Learned a bunch. "EGR" is very good google fodder. Had a chance to look at this again, port opens a little at the bottom of the stroke, i assume to expel exhaust, just after bdc intake and...

RE: What is this ??

Heya,

Anyone know if this worked? Is this a common mod for this engine? Did it perform like a regular 42 after blocking the port?

Regards,

Mike

RE: Poulan 42 Education

The other post I saw on this engine suggested it was some sort of exhaust recirc as well. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_4124612/tm.htm

Is this a common emmisions thing? Basically we are...

RE: Poulan 42 Education

Carb Questions:

Carb is a Zama W-26. What I find interesting is the port at the top and the additional butterfly manifold that adds air when the carb goes to full throttle.

I've read on...
