Hi Chris,

The shims are made from 1/32 ply about 1/8 to 1/4 inch wide.
I glue them to the head in the position shown in the attached picture that I captured from the head assembly...

The hang andle should be fine @ 15 deg.
Put the shims just aft of the blade bolt on the doubler. I highly recommend the shims, it will make a huge difference.

The rigging dimensions in the manual are starting points. You can center your trim and add more "down elevator" in mechanically at the servo.

I couldn't say for sure what would happen if the horizontal stab was removed from one of the PT family of gyros. I am fairly certain they can be quite a bit smaller on both the original 1/2a PT Gyro...

The PT Profile is available in a 3 pack now at a reduced price per kit. Hopefully this will encourage club members who are 'on the fence' about trying a gyrocopter to get together and try one out....

Nylon gears will work fine as far as flight loads.
They will strip when you have a few tip overs or ground strikes with the main rotor.

I do not have any experience with the JR composite...

We recommended the HS81MG for the 1/2a PT Gyro.
For the PT Profile and the PT25, we recommend the HS225MG or equivalent.
