I am thinking of doing this jet in EDF, and I can install a 16lb thrust fan for an AUW of about 22.6 lbs. This is thrust/weight ratio of 0.71. That sounds like enough.

What do you folks think?

I had this problem when using it on my float plane. The step on floats are just slightly aft of the CG needing a negative number.

I read an article in an RC magazine where a guy just puts each wheel on a scale one at a time. Put a book on the opposite wheel to keep it level. Then he calculates the CG. I think my next balance...

There is a slight angle to the gear doors when retracted, but it is not bad. They clear the wheel well without any mod.

IMO, Put the CG at 4.5” aft of the wing leading edge and NOT 4 7/8” per the manual.
