The idle screw wasn't the problem. It was adjusted for the correct spacing (around 1mm) but the arm would "mash" the carb closed just a smidge closing it past the proper idle opening(probably 0.75mm)...

I switched a while back from Traxxas 20% to Trinity Monster Horsepower 30%. Much easier to tune and runs a little bit better, not much. Lower temps as well due to less oil.

Take out the glowplug, turn the flywheel and see where BDC is. Then, in that same position, use a marker to mark the flywheel in a convenient reference position so you don't have to take the glowplug...

I had a JATO and it was fast. The 2-wheel-drive is tough to control. The thing spun out everytime you were on any dirt surface. I tried different tires/slipper settings/ you name it. It was TOO fast....

We have a Bushnell Radar gun that works great! I got it for 75 bucks brand new. And yes, it settles a lot of disputes.

I'm telling you. Keep turning the HSN in. I lost track of how many turns from the factory settings, but I turned it a lot! At least 2 full turns. By the way, 246F is low. Mine is tuned at about 290F....
