RE: Traxxas 20% Top fuel...

It didn't work well in my Savage. It ran hot and was difficult to keep tuned. It has more oil than others so in theory, your engine will last longer using it. The temps were too high in mine so the...

RE: Ofna throttle mod----Do it!

The idle screw wasn't the problem. It was adjusted for the correct spacing (around 1mm) but the arm would "mash" the carb closed just a smidge closing it past the proper idle opening(probably 0.75mm)...

RE: cahnging fuel

I switched a while back from Traxxas 20% to Trinity Monster Horsepower 30%. Much easier to tune and runs a little bit better, not much. Lower temps as well due to less oil.

Ofna throttle mod----Do it!

Just a quick note to tell everyone about this Mod. It works perfect. My Savage ran great but I had a problem that when I would brake hard, it would stall sometimes. I looked at the carb when I used...

RE: What do you do to make sure the savage's engine is Bottom dead center?

Take out the glowplug, turn the flywheel and see where BDC is. Then, in that same position, use a marker to mark the flywheel in a convenient reference position so you don't have to take the glowplug...

RE: Revo or Savage

I have had both and while the REVO was a lot faster, the 2.5 traxxas motor did not hold a tune very well. Especially now that the days here in Atlanta are hot and humid. The Savage runs great every...

RE: Traxxas Jato or HPI MT2 18SS

Maybe, just maybe, the originator of the thread has a Savage and wanted the opinion of other Savage owners what they thought on the subject rather than getting into a heated debate between the biased...

RE: Traxxas Jato or HPI MT2 18SS

I had a JATO and it was fast. The 2-wheel-drive is tough to control. The thing spun out everytime you were on any dirt surface. I tried different tires/slipper settings/ you name it. It was TOO fast....

RE: reverse

Very easy to install. It took me about 45 minutes. Directions are very good.

Nice video!

RE: reverse

I upgraded my steering servo and used the old one for the reverse. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

RE: not shifting when warmed up

Tuning problem maybe? Here's my theory. When the tank is full and the truck is cold, your truck is tuned good enough to shift. When it warms up and gets too lean via the tank leaning it out, the...

RE: savage top speed?

We have a Bushnell Radar gun that works great! I got it for 75 bucks brand new. And yes, it settles a lot of disputes.

Tsais pipe review

Where most people are looking to add a little bit of power, I just wanted to quiet my Savage down a bit. After reading a lot of posts, I was looking for a good deal on an XTM or Tsais pipe as they...

RE: savage top speed?

Chevy also says that my Avalanche gets 20 miles per gallon. Yeah right. Try 16mpg on the highway...Downhill...with a tailwind...going 30 miles per hour.

Don't believe everything you read. They...

RE: savage top speed?

Personally, I really don't care if my truck is the fastest. Don't get me wrong, it was cool that my old Jato cracked 50mph (54mph to be exact) but it could only do it on pavement. On the track, I...

RE: Revo OR Savage?

I had both. I really liked the REVO but the 2.5R wouldn't hold a tune here in 90 degree/% humidity Georgia. When it was tuned properly it was awesome. Fast...handles great...very good design. I...

RE: savage top speed?

I just ran my Savage and my radar says 35MPH. It is totally stock with about 1/2 gallon ran through it. I think it'll go a little bit faster when it gets some more time on the engine and more...

RE: New Savage 25 won't run!!!!

I'm telling you. Keep turning the HSN in. I lost track of how many turns from the factory settings, but I turned it a lot! At least 2 full turns. By the way, 246F is low. Mine is tuned at about 290F....

RE: New Savage 25 won't run!!!!

I just got mine last week and I feel your pain. I thought mine was broken too! You have to adjust the HSN a lot!!!!! I just got rid of a traxxas JATO and the break-in routine is much different. The...
