RE: Official XXX-NT Thread!!!

But really don't blame Losi for discontinuing the XXX-NT line, blame RC Pro and ROAR and all the racers who decided that 1/10 gas truck wasn't worth holding on to. I quit RC Pro over this.

I...

RE: Official XXX-NT Thread!!!

I can still source parts for the JRX-T, the 1988 model. For example I found the trans case LOSA3001 for $5.75

Try losa2932, it's the compound gear and brake hub, still available.

RE: Official XXX-NT Thread!!!

You keep saying that, but in all the years I've owned a XXX-NT, I have only broken 2 compound gears. Once when the tranny case actually cracked apart and all the gears stripped, and once when I ran...

RE: LST XXL release pushed back

Why would you buy the LST XXL after buying the LST2? Just buy the different parts, like main chassis plate, siderails and a few more things (body) and you'll have a LST XXL. The LST XXL is just an...

RE: Official XXX-NT Thread!!!

The GT1 was much more durable that the XXX-NT (although the XXX-NT could handle much better). I don't think the GT2 is much more durable than the AD2. I had a XXX-NT RTR-1 and then got the AD2. ...

RE: Official XXX-NT Thread!!!

Drake got 2nd at the Farm 2 RC Pro East Rd 1 in 1/10 scale, and with the underengineered Losi 8ight got 1st.

RE: Official XXX-NT Thread!!!

I think an AD2 won the east series too. Adam Drake was there, and TQed. I didn't stay around for the mains to find out though.

RE: Official XXX-NT Thread!!!

You've probably seen these, but here goes. Flat spot the rear pivot pins so the grub screws can bite the pin, also, replace the stock ball cups with grey ones if you plan to race, as the ones on the...

RE: Official XXX-NT Thread!!!

I just check it like the diff. I make sure it slips at a fairly moderate amount of force, like not twisting the bone up. Then I loosen my diff until it slips, then tighten it 1/8 turn tighter to...

RE: Official XXX-NT Thread!!!

The pads will heat up and I guess they could melt the spur if they got really really hot. The worst part is that your truck will not seem to want to go anywhere. I make sure mine slip with a...

RE: Official XXX-NT Thread!!!

I ran, and still run the aluminum gear (for extra insurance). I got bashed for it on Drake's forum, but I still run it. I have sheared the combo gear and diff gear too, once. I think what happened...

RE: Official XXX-NT Thread!!!

Maybe you don't understand, this "thing" was not designed as a basher, it was designed for fairly smooth, groomed R/C race tracks, and maintenance after each and every run. It's a racer, not a toy,...

RE: Official XXX-NT Thread!!!

Maybe that is the problem, you drive yours in a parking lot. You hit the throttle, and there is no slip, unlike dirt. This thing was designed as an offroad racer and requires a bit of maintanance. ...

RE: Official XXX-NT Thread!!!

It doesn't suck more air, it sucks the same volume of air, but the air is denser with more oxygen. The venturi effect doesn't change, nor does the crankcase vacuum, just the amount of oxygen in the...

RE: Official XXX-NT Thread!!!

Temperature is important, but tracking minute changes in it are not. A broader temperature range is appropriate for R/C cars or any engine in that matter. The proper air/fuel mixture is important...

RE: Official XXX-NT Thread!!!

That's just not true. You aren't trying to run your engine at a predetermined temperature, you are trying to run it in an acceptable range with the best possible power. As the air becomes denser,...

RE: Official XXX-NT Thread!!!

Actually, if I am correctly, you run richer in cold weather. The air is more dense, hence you get more air, and that effectively leans the motor out. Your engine should make more power with more...

Except the Jato is 2 speed and not legal for sanctioned racing in 1/10 scale gas stadium truck racing.

RE: Loctite your LST2 screws!

Come on, really. First, we all complained because the original LST had red loctite all over it, making removal of broken parts nearly impossible, now we are complaining because there isn't any...

RE: Spectrum DX3?

In response to the servo question. I race off-road, and in off-road the speed of the servo isn't what counts. If it has fairly good speed, then that's great. The front end of our cars get beat so...
