One theory about running less ignition improver eg 1% Amsoil is that you need to increase the compression when you do this, and this could contribute towards going overcompressed late in the engine...

yes, thats right.
The venturi is a push fit in the crankcase, locked in position by the spraybar.
When running a bladder you can use a much bigger venturi, more air/more fuel/more power !
