Ya, setting the clutch bell gear too far away from, or even too tight against--the spur gear will wear it prematurely. I JUST now found this out the hard way. I had mine too far from the spur gear...

I THINK its ok... thats the problem. I looked at it, and it looks ok to me. But, I dont know what to look for--what a bad one looks like...

I did get it to work--used a razor blade to shave off the excess material on the "J" connector plug to make it fit in the JR receiver. That web site I linked...

Ok, sorry for yet again a 3rd post here by me :)

I decided this can work. AllI gotta do is make sure I have the polarity right, and shave the fail-safe plug down a bit to match the JR plug...

Is this just a case of proprietary plugs? I looked, and the plugs are about the same...
