RE: Wind Hobby Ferret 1/16th Electric Buggy

Yep, those are the ones. I'll let you know if I run across some new one for a good price. Try craigslist too. I'll check my area and let you know.

Thanks.

RE: Wind Hobby Ferret 1/16th Electric Buggy

This may be a silly question, but did you try ebay? There is a few guys out there with some. I have a brushless one that is in pieces. Everything is there, it just needs to be put back together. I...

RE: Wind Hobby Ferret 1/16th Electric Buggy

No problem. For what it's worth, it does handle really well on the track. Doing on-site changes for track conditions was just as easy as the more expensive cars. However, the local track I go to is...

RE: Wind Hobby Ferret 1/16th Electric Buggy

I have taken it to a track. We need metal gears or a slipper clutch to make it a great race car. Without one of those, you will have problems at the track (I did).

RE: Wind Hobby Ferret 1/16th Electric Buggy

Do you have a link for the auction? I would like to see them and research if they have any metal gears.

That is what the fourms are for, to ask as many questions as possible. This way, we all become better and smater worldwide. Always remember, when you ask someone a question and they have the answer,...

RE: Official e-savage thread

Yes, they are better. More power and more grunt. If you used the stock e sav packs, you will see a power difference. All battery packs get hot (watch your temps). I don't know if they make them with...

RE: Official e-savage thread

I use the traxxas connectors. Sometimes I install them myself and sometimes I buy the packs with them on there already. Deans are good conectors too.

RE: Official e-savage thread

I use these:

They are really EP4600 packs. I thought all battery packs where the same until I used these. After using these, I...

RE: Official e-savage thread

To honest, it could have been one or all of those things. It could be what guver said too. Either way the main problem is still heat build-up, and the solution is watch the temps. If it gets too hot,...

RE: Official e-savage thread

That should fine. I buy my packs already made. The main thing to watch is heat levels when charging and when you use the batteries (I learned the hard way, too). When you charge ANY nimh pack, they...

RE: Official e-savage thread

I use Nimh EP4600. They work great. Lipos are good, but for me, they are still a little bit too dangerous. I'm waiting for them to be come a little bit more "idiot proof".

RE: Official e-savage thread

Glad you are ok. These battery packs can be dangerous when they explode. The electronics should be fine. Something similar happened to me. The battery pack caught fire but it did not explode. Your...

RE: Brushless 8900KV slow?!

I was using Nimh's and they may not be powerful enough to see the true power. From what I have seen, lower KV motors do better with nimhs. On another brushless project I finished, I'm running 14.4...

Large E savage/E maxx pinions...

Where can you buy a 25t - 30t 32P pinions for the E savage and/or the E maxx? The highest pinions I can find for these trucks is 22t in a 32P. Should I use a 48p pinion at this point?

Thanks.

RE: RC18T Steel Diff and Input gears Yes/No

Which pinion are you using? What are those pinion shaft sizes, 2mm? Do they come in smaller (lower number of teeth) sizes? Do they wear out quick? What pitch do we need for our rc18t's?

Thanks.

RC18T: titanium Spur gear or Slipper.....

I have a rc18t with the whole drivetrain metal/Alum. With a good gear mesh, I stripped my alum spur in one spot. I gave it some throttle after a jump (I know not to, but I slipped up that day) and...
