RE: New 1/28 pan chassis, Greyscale Racing MRCG

I went to Inside Line Racing for testing yesterday. Awesome place to go if you're in the South Bay Area btw, very clean facility and a well-stocked shop. ;)

RE: 2.4 Ghz radio and antenna issues

Woah, you guys have long antennas for 2.4GHz... or maybe mine is short? The antenna on my 2.4GHz Mini-Z is almost exactly 1" long. Doesn't even reach the roof of the bodyshell.

RE: New 1/28 pan chassis, Greyscale Racing MRCG

A long-deserved update.

All our testing has indicated to me that chassis with rear suspension like the MRCG/Sinister/etc. need a lot of rear droop to function properly, but all iterations of...

RE: Official Kyosho Mini-z Thread!

I meant springs and t-plates. Hard front springs and a soft/super soft t-plate will make the car easy to drive and assess how much additional steering you need. ;)

RE: Official Kyosho Mini-z Thread!

walkingcarpet- might want a little more camber than 1 degree. Most RCP tracks aren't super-high-grip so you need some body roll to keep the car planted, and with body roll comes the need for 2 or 3...

RE: Official Kyosho Mini-z Thread!

That's not true, Atomicmods and Reflex Racing are both based in Texas, and there should be at least a few places in the Houston area to race. If you do enough stalking on this forum you can probably...

RE: Why you shouldnt drift with 2wd

I've been experimenting with RWD for years... the main hurdle you have to overcome is the car's propensity to hook the tires on something and spin you out/knock you out of the drift. (AWD pulls the...

RE: New 1/28 pan chassis, Greyscale Racing MRCG

I don't intend to put together any RTR's so that possibility will rest in whether or not I can secure a retailer to help me out. I imagine the most basic RTR could use full Micro-T electronics and a...

RE: New 1/28 pan chassis, Greyscale Racing MRCG

Can't believe another month has already passed, but at least I've got more updates. :)

RE: New 1/28 pan chassis, Greyscale Racing MRCG

I have designed it already, but it won't be available immediately because of the cost. The whole point of MRCG is to maximize the price/performance ratio, and the extra cost of carbon fiber doesn't...

RE: New 1/28 pan chassis, Greyscale Racing MRCG

I'm well aware that I'm competing with the Sinister, and that's fine by me, because we both have our salient points.

The Sinister has a very focused approach to its design, the carbon fiber, low...

RE: New 1/28 pan chassis, Greyscale Racing MRCG

It wasn't, haha... I had to turn the board and servo around for a more comfortable fit. MRCG #001 is, except for a battery pack and bearing set, ready to go! ;)

RE: New 1/28 pan chassis, Greyscale Racing MRCG

The wheelbase is 94mm, so it is a 1/28 car. ;) Thanks guys!

RE: New 1/28 pan chassis, Greyscale Racing MRCG

I wanted an RM for myself. :D And I wanted to put the concept on the road ASAP, so I opted to save the motor mount machining for the next prototype. ;)

RE: New 1/28 pan chassis, Greyscale Racing MRCG

Got some more work done. The car is currently riding on plastic and metal bushings (!) so don't expect it to run quite yet.

Note the new uber-low oil damper config. Now the only things that even...

New 1/28 pan chassis, Greyscale Racing MRCG

Hi everyone, haven't been here in a while... here's my pet project that will hopefully see the shelves sometime soon.

Introducing the MRCG: A pan chassis aimed at open-class racers who need...

RE: Mini-T Drifter

Technically untrue, though I get what you're saying. The rear end does not necessarily have to overshoot; that's the driver's issue to take care of and when wheelspin is modulated properly the rear...

RE: Mini-T Drifter

My point is? Your turn, lol... the more proof that RWD drifting is possible, the better. The more effort that goes into understanding and developing it, the better. So show everyone, and you can...

RE: Mini-T Drifter

RE: Mini-T Drifter

I must've missed it if he did, and I can't find it in this thread.

One suggestion: electrical tape is a nice rear 'tire' material if you use PVC front tires as well.

RE: Mini-T Drifter

I'm going to state this again, though it's pretty pointless if nobody understands.

You're limited by your steering angle if you use sticker front tires than rear tires. Not enough inertia in RC...

RE: Mini-T Drifter

Slippery in front so you can understeer mid-drift and increase the angle. It should be easier for you to hold your drift once you've started it (which isn't easy) since the Mini-T has the motor...

RE: Mini-T Drifter

I swear this thread's almost identical to another one I saw a loooong time ago. :D

For those who haven't realized that drifting is about understeer just as much as it is about oversteer: harder...
