Rustler carriers

I have a rustler with a gtb 5.5. I keep hearing people say get new carriers for the brushless system. I just wanted to know what carriers do.

I already have the aluminum idler.

Yeah i have deans. The end of the battery pack caught on fire and burned through the black plastic that holds the batteries in place.

I was running my rustler with a gtb 5.5 and some dirt hawg tires with trinity 4200 batteries yesterday when the batteries just went up in flames. I got them out of my car before any damage was done....

building battery packs

I have a couple of loose cells and was wondering do they have to be the same kind to make a battery pack out of them. some are 3800 and the others are 4200.

is this possible?

Thanks U-dUd. It was the tab at the end it got so hot that it split the tab in half. one of the batteries doesent lolk useable but the rest are fine.

the capacitators come on the motor. I didnt think it made since either but thats what it is doing. I have tried different radios as well and still the same thing.
