My experience with the ZDZ 80 (regular) copper prop hub, 2 years old has been fantastic! I bought it new from RCshowcase, and it sat in the box for 2 years, before I cranked it up for the first...

RE: Would you trust your large gas plane to cheaper Hitec radio equipment ???

I have used the Hitec supreme 8 fm receivers in the past, no problems! I currently am using Hitec 945 coreless servos. They are fantastic! Also running a 5735 digital for a pull rudder. No...

RE: Need To Glass This Firewall

Before you fiberglass it, spray a light coat of adhesive spray. The cloth will adhear to it, and make it much easier to coat with epoxy! Will keep it from slipping, and will help around the corners.

RE: Hangar 9 Cap 232 33% not popular?

It is the best flying plane that I have ever owned! It flies fantastic. The ZDZ 80 is a great combination for this plane. It flies straight and true, no bad habbits. You hear alot about Caps...

RE: ZDZ super 80

I have a ZDZ 80RV and a ZDZ 80 RVJ super. I have not run the 80 super yet, but heres all I do with my 80RV. First run of the day.... I choke and flip about 10 times ignition off. Then I open the...

RE: 3w ignition module mount.

Hi, Just a note. Using standoffs, I think that AI and others recommend the aluminum backplate mount. They say without it, the engine can torque or twist and break the mount lugs. The lugs on the...

RE: Aileron offset problem?

I wish that I could remember the article and magazine, but a ever so slight difference of the aileron leading edge actually helps against flutter. (dont ask me how!) I know that sounds wacked out.......

RE: Great Planes Cap 580 33% build??

The overall size of the GP 580 cap is bigger than the H9 1/3 scale cap. If you put them side by side, the GP is noticeably bigger! I have both, and I can back that up. With that said, the quality...

RE: difference's in the 3W 80XI and the 3W 80CS?

Dennis, dont know if you are asking bout my plane or others. The GP Cap 580 will definately balance on the rear tube position, but Im going for the front. I had to extend my ZDZ 80 out about an...

RE: difference's in the 3W 80XI and the 3W 80CS?

I dont have a real close up pic of the shaft, but it is threaded for a 10x1.0 mm nut and a 5mm spinner bolt. ZDZ uses two nuts to secure it plus the 6 bolt pattern. While the 6 bolts are one size...

RE: difference's in the 3W 80XI and the 3W 80CS?

Another thing that I like about the ZDZ engines, is the threaded prop shaft. I really think that by tightening down that bolt, it keeps the prop equal in compression, while you torque the smaller...

RE: difference's in the 3W 80XI and the 3W 80CS?

Im not trying to knock the 80CS, Im sure its a fine motor. I have heard nothing but good stuff about it. I just did not like the mount, and in my application the longer ZDZsuper actually worked out...

RE: difference's in the 3W 80XI and the 3W 80CS?

By the way, I forgot to mention that when I had bought my 3W 80xi CS, Aircraft international claimed that the CS version has about 15% more power than standard version.

RE: difference's in the 3W 80XI and the 3W 80CS?

Hi guys, I will just add my 2 cents. For what it is worth, I had a 3W80 xi CS and it was a very good looking engine! Bright and shiny on the outside at least! I never had a chance to run it, cause...

RE: GP Cap 580 1/3 scale

I finally have matched the paint splotches from Cowl to fuse. This was due to extending my ZDZ 80 Super out to get the needles before the firewall, and to help with balance. (see my other posts in...
