Thanks. You should be able to lay something soft in the cowl and mold the plastic with some gloves and a heat gun gradually securing it with screws. Can you post pics of your project?

I agree. The antenna has been damaged. They are not expensive. Replace it and I am betting your reception woes will be resolved.
