RE: Computer tuning

Only have 1gb so I'm usually using 600mb - 700mb. FF and system are my biggest processes. FF usually 130-160K (depending on whether or not I have a chat/IM open) and system 83K. Other than that...

RE: Computer tuning

I'm running 39 processes with FF, Outlook express, Windows media player and the task manager open. (when I got the computer it had 96) I might see if I can't get that numbers lower.

Another...

RE: Computer tuning

I try to defrag every month or so, and run a registry cleaner.

Also I run AVG 9 (free) malwarebytes, and spybot. My drive is only half full.

Computer tuning

My brother just got a computer that had some sort of computer tuning software, that supposedly makes it run faster. What exactly does software like that do, and is there any good free ones?

RE: Netbook HDD problem

The drive that came out is a Serial ATA-300 and 300 MBps. Will a SATA 150 drive work in it's place? I'm finding the 150's for quite a bit cheaper than the 300's.

RE: Netbook HDD problem

I decided to take it apart and replace the the drive anyways. I figured worse case I toss it, and I'm only down whatever I spend on a drive which I could maybe use for something else.

Anyone...

RE: Netbook HDD problem

I did and found a few things, and even a video of how to take it apart, but all of them where for the SSD version.

RE: Netbook HDD problem

I don't really care to spend the money to have someone put a new drive in. I'll probably pick up another Flash drive and just run it off that, like I'm doing now. I found a 32gb flash drive for $20...

RE: Netbook HDD problem

Ken,

I'd be fine replacing the drive myself. I've installed a hard drive and a dvd drive in a desk top before. I've already tried to take the netbook apart, but I couldn't get it fully apart. Is...

RE: Netbook HDD problem

I reformatted the drive (I think) I used GParted to delete all partitions on the drive. Just to let everyone know the drive has 1365 bad sectors.

I tried installing Unbuntu on the drive, and...

RE: Netbook HDD problem

No I haven't. I thought about it, but this is the first time I've messed with Ubuntu and not sure how to do that yet.[&o]

Netbook HDD problem

I have a Acer Aspireone netbook that was thrown across the floor, and had sectors of the drive damaged (the OS sectors and partition) I've got the newbook to boot Ubuntu off a flash drive, but when I...

RE: What is better Odonnel, Byron or Sidewinder?

Sidewinder is a full castor fuel. (unless they changed it in the last year)

RE: Fuel heater/vaporizer

One guy did find a way. He used something other than electrolysis to separate the H2 and O. He also had a car that ran off of just water. You can get a drawing of his design some where.

RE: Fuel heater/vaporizer

You can run a car off of just H and O. The problem is making enough H and O efficiently.
If I remember correctly H is 300 times as explosive as gas.

RE: Fuel heater/vaporizer

I don't know. I do know that most of the fuel that goes into a engine goes out the exhaust without getting burnt.

RE: Fuel heater/vaporizer

What I found before was they turned the gas into it's vapor form in the lines somewhere. I'd guess right before the injectors.

It should work, because Gas only burns as a vapor. So the Gas that...

Fuel heater/vaporizer

Anyone know where to find some info on how to make them?

I found where a few people added them to some big v8's (400's, 427's, and 454's) and getting 50mpg - 60mpg out of them. Nothing added to...
