Replacement Engine for Muggy

I have a 10 year old Muggy with the stock Mach 427 engine. Sooner or later it is going to give up the ghost (it runs fine at the moment). What would be a good replacement engine for general all...

Chronic TVP's and SomeGuy's Anodizing

Got these in a while ago, but I have been extremely busy and have just found the time to post some pics. Most people know all about Chronic's TVP's so I'll spare you the details. Only thing I will...

RE: HOW FAST IS THE SAVAGE X

Fast and if you put an STS D30M in it, you will travel back to the future!

RE: STS Engines

Mine broke in the exact same manner. I complained about the quality and was told I don't know how to use a pull starter. I'm with you.

RE: STS Engines

I'll save the others the trouble: The pullstarter is fine. You pulled it to hard.

RE: Muggy vs. Revo 3.3

See if the LHS will let you put them side by side. The Muugy is going to look huge next to the Revo.

RE: STS Engines

I used a carb from an Axial .28 - fit perfectly.

There's a reason why these things are $130.

RE: STS Engines

That's a really generous offer, Super. Once I changed the carb, the engine ran fine. My gripe isn't with the performance. It's with the amount of time and effort that was required to get the power...

RE: Mach 427?

Compared to other truggies, the stock Muggy handles poorly. An Axial isn't going to help it corner and turn.

RE: STS Engines

Dude - you get frustrated when people act like the Axial is the most powerful engine ever made. I get frustrated when people act like the STS is the "no doubt" best engine to buy for the Savage. ...

RE: losi muggy

You need more than a vented 12 tooth clutch bell. You need a new clutch. The stock one is a piece of crap. You'll get a gallon out of it at best. Here is what I did to mine.

Single servo...

RE: Mach 427?

Bennzy - you're right. You would have been getting screwed had you made that trade. That was one ratty looking Muggy. Now he gets a ratty looking Savage. Hurrah!

RE: STS Engines

For your average basher, this engine isn't worth the trouble. Drop an Axial in, have it broken in in 2 hours and your are off blasting around with no worries.

RE: Starter box?

I don't think you can use a starter box on a Savage. No access to the flywheel.
