RE: T-Maxx 2.5 Screw Kits

+1 to this. I bought new screws (Traxxas stainless) for my bulkheads and I stripped them out with a HAND-DRIVEN phillips-head screwdriver! It was the proper size and everything. It was ridiculous...

RE: New Motor?

I will be putting my T-maxx back together this weekend (maybe by today). I will reset the settings to factory and let you know how it runs. Also I will note the condition of my glowplug and the...

New Motor?

Ok, I have a Traxxas Sportmaxx that came with the 2.5 racing engine (not 2.5R), 2-spd tranny and 4WD (no REV). I have been reading a lot on here about the acceleration characteristics of this...

RE: maxx hex hardware conversion?

Yeah, I bought replacement screws for my Maxx (ss) snd they stripped out as I was putting them in! I was furious! I got one of them out with a pair of pliers and a lot of patience. The other one...

RE: Infrared Temperature Gauges

I am not that afraid of being burnt. I just didn't want to put my hand on the head to get a reading while holding the thermometer. I am a newbie and I saw that my head was smoking while my Uncle...

RE: Infrared Temperature Gauges

Ok, cool. That sounds like an easy enough thing to do. Thanks for the help. No need wasting money on a more expensive model since this one does the peak/hi/low functions that make tuning easier.

RE: Infrared Temperature Gauges

LOL, thanks. I hope I am not a fool.... What is the range on that gauge? I looked on the link and it didn't mention it. I assume since you use it that it measures above 250 degrees F? ...

Infrared Temperature Gauges

I was wondering what type/brand/price temp gun should I buy to help with the tuning of my T-maxx 2.5? I have seen them from $25-$250. Is having the laser sight good for this application? I would...

RE: Glow plugs keep dying

One thing about the "pinch test" is that my fuel line going to the carb is really short and hidden behind the engine head. I can't even begin to reach it to pinch the line shut. I bought some extra...

RE: Glow plugs keep dying

Thanks for the info. I will tune my truck a little bit more lean. Is it the HSN and LSN? Or just one of those? I am thinking just the LSN since my truck doesn't take off very well.

RE: Glow plugs keep dying

My plug looks dark and wet. It is not gray, glazed or fried looking. I believe I am running rich. Is this a LSN or a HSN adjustment I need to make? Should I use a different plug manufacturer? ...

Glow plugs keep dying

Ok, I finally got my Sport-T-Maxx tuned pretty good; at least on the HSN. I am now having trouble with starting the truck initially and especially after a rollover. I have to prime the engine and...

RE: 2spd Tranny not shifting

I was wondering if the older 2.5 Racing Engine (silver head) in the T-maxx was a little slow to accelerate from a stop. My Uncle said "it goes like a T-maxx". It seems to gather itself before it...

Does this fit on my 2.5 T-maxx?

My Sportmaxx/Tmaxx has a really short fuel line to the carb. I cannot even think off reaching it to pinch and shut it off. I was wondering if this line/clamp will fit. clicky

I planned on...

RE: Upgrade my Sportmaxx (4wd, 2spd, no rev)

I took my truck with me to my Uncle's house for our annual family reunion. I noticed that the front skidplate is damaged and missing some screws/holes. We also found out that the previous owner...

This is for those of you who took the time to help me out with my T-Maxx issues. I took my Maxx to my Family Reunion this past weekend and my Uncle and cousin race R/Cs. I thought it was only...

RE: 2spd Tranny not shifting

Wow! I never thought about it being in 2nd the whole time. It does seem to accelerate slowly and then build to a ridiculous top speed. I hope I got the adjustment screw pretty close to factory...

I am 29 years old. This is my first "real" R/C and definitely my first nitro powered one. I love it! It of course is frustrating and a PITA sometimes trying to figure out what is wrong when your...

RE: 2spd Tranny not shifting

So I spent some time yesterday getting acquianted with my Sportmaxx. I decided that since I messed with the tranny shift screw so much that I would disassemble the whole thing and try to return it...

RE: Upgrade my Sportmaxx (4wd, 2spd, no rev)

Just wanted to let you know that I am a newbie and I just realized that I already have an aluminum chassis. It's the chassis braces on the bottom that made me think it wasn't...lol.

RE: 2spd Tranny not shifting

Yes, I tried this the other day. I got it to shift in my hand (still really late) but not on the ground. I have since messed with the tranny shift adjustment screw (shouldn't have) and I don't...
