i bought all my screws from mcmaster.com. i had a warhead, and priced some screw sets. i could get enough screws for 3 trucks for the price of a hexcrew kit.

RE: maxx hex hardware conversion?
Yeah, I bought replacement screws for my Maxx (ss) snd they stripped out as I was putting them in! I was furious! I got one of them out with a pair of pliers and a lot of patience. The other one is getting ready to be cut by my new Dremel 10V tool. I bought'em, tried to install them and then threw them in the garbage. Are Tony's screws less prone to stripping? I was going to go to Lowes or Home Depot to have them find me replacement screws that are a higher grade alloy. My truck has been sitting with the front bulkheads off for about 2 weeks now because of these crappy screws that Traxxas makes/sells.

I have yet to strip, break or dremel out a Tony's screw.I have a kit on all my trucks and it makes it so much nicer to work on them without worrying about how to get a stripped screw out.A good set of hex drivers is a good investment too.I cant stand working with those cheap tiny allen wrenches, after a while they wear out and they usually end up killing my fingers. This is what i use
