RE: SuperVee Brushless Ultimate Combo from Tower

This might be a dumb question, but if you decide to use LiPo's in the SV, do you run 1 or 2 packs?

RE: SuperVee Brushless Ultimate Combo from Tower

Great info here. I'm still on the fence about getting one. It's mainly a $$$ thing, but I think I'm too deep already, hehe (anyone that's been around RC knows what I mean) ;). I think I will just...

RE: SuperVee Brushless Ultimate Combo from Tower

Bummer on the 977. Any other chargers out there that can do NiMh and Lipo that I should look at?

RE: SuperVee Brushless Ultimate Combo from Tower

Good call on the Lipo charger. I know I need to get on board with Lipo.

So I'm thinking Super Brain 977 and the DTX4200's. Should make a pretty good combo for the SV27. Any other thoughts?

RE: SuperVee Brushless Ultimate Combo from Tower

Thanks for the info Joe!

For whatever reason I just noticed the DTX4200's from Tower are a couple bucks cheaper. Any reason not to go with 4200's?

SuperVee Brushless Ultimate Combo from Tower

So I'm thinking SV27 brushless for my first RC boat. Is this combo from Tower any good SuperVee 27 Brushless RTR Ultimate Combo? Specifically the batteries and charger. I know there is a battery...

RE: RTR Speed Boats

Also check out the Aquacraft SuperVee 27 Brushless. I'm pretty much researching just like you and this is the boat I'm leaning towards so far. I like the fact you don't need to run Lipo's and the...

RE: How to test AA rechargeables...

Well I ended up ordering the Maha charger today. I hope it wasn't a hasty decision, but I really wanted to get it quick rather than risk messing up any more batteries. This is a good discussion...

RE: How to test AA rechargeables...

I'm sold, thanks so much! I'm sure the cheap "fast" charger I've been using is killing my batts.

Unless someone chimes in with a different suggestion I think the La Crosse unit is the one.

RE: How to test AA rechargeables...

Yes I'm talking loose cells. So are you saying they might not necessarily be bad just need to be properly discharged and cycled? I'm not a pro at electric RC so please school me. Thanks!

RE: How to test AA rechargeables...

Thanks. How would I go about "cycling" them? Sorry if it's a dumb question. [sm=red_smile.gif]

How to test AA rechargeables...

Does anyone know the best way to test AA rechargeables. I've got a lot I've accumulated over the years and I know some must be bad, but they all look the same and I need a way to test and weed...

RE: brake cleaner

Autozone brake cleaner is the best substitute I have found for nitro wash. Simple Green has it's place, but for cleaning greasy parts, glow plugs, etc. quickly you need a degreaser that dries quick....

RE: 20% or 30% nitro fuel?

Yes. I've done this to at least one of my engines. Even with a proper tune. It can cause pitting on the head button and piston crown.

Unless you're racing and need every last ounce of power....

RE: Ruined GO 3 port?

I like to double the foil by folding over once. I use a hair dryer too. I can get it to around 160F then I fire the engine. With it running on the box I continue with the hair dryer to help it get...

RE: Finally Broke in My GO 3 Port Sport

Sounds like you've been doing everything right with just a hiccup here and there I wouldn't worry.

RE: FIRST 1/8 FACTORY BUILT BRUSHLESS BUGGY

Cool.

I saw a guy with a converted 8ight at the track a few weeks back and that thing ripped!

RE: 20% or 30% nitro fuel?

I wouldn't run 30% without shimming the head and running a cold plug. If you feel like playing around with this you can get more performance. Careful if you run 30% without paying attention to...

RE: TTR.28 running hot

Tough call. Sounds like you are fat on the bottom and lean on top. Do you use sealant on the carb base? If not I would seal it just to rule out an air leak there. Try to reset the needles to...

RE: Buggie Engines

Yeah most engines will be a direct swap.

Might I recommend a .21 instead of a .26 or .28. Run time is almost cut in half with the bigger engines plus a good .21 makes plenty of power for a...

RE: Glow plug question

I haven't yet ran a turbo plug engine, but here's some food for thought. Turbo plugs cost quite a bit more than standard plugs. In a pinch they may be more difficult to find. If you were at the...

RE: I found the ideal Traxxas customer.

Big deal. So he's enjoying his purchase and having fun with this hobby. Isn't that what it's about? I've ran a 3.3 in the past and I thought the engine ripped too. You must be really bored to...
