RE: Model Tech Yak 54 Build

Guys, all my flying wires came loose. I wasn't too confident those eyelets would hold. Any recommendations on replacement hardware? Or how to make them not come apart?

RE: Model Tech Yak 54 Build

I found that same tube from Tower. Just wondering if the 1/2" caps are really needed. With not a lot of experience with the big stuff, is there a chance the tube would shift and throw things out of...

RE: Model Tech Yak 54 Build

Thanks for the offer. My wife made me clean up the shop and I found it. :D. Good luck with the maiden. I like the socket head screws on the cowl. You did a really nice job cutting it also.

RE: Model Tech Yak 54 Build

Sneaky was asking about parts. I was told a little while back by Hobby People that this plane was discontinued. Today I found a page on their site that says they are expecting a shipment in the...

RE: Model Tech Yak 54 Build

Bri, took your advice and ordered a heavy duty starter. I really want to get a couple tanks of fuel through the engine before I finish the assembly. It should go pretty quick. I just have to mount...

Wow, sorry to hear that. I just don't have any time to make progress. Job has me working 6 days a week. The rest of the time I just don't want to get off the couch.

RE: Model Tech Yak 54 Build

Nope, just flipping the prop. I have a starter and tried it but I don't think it's really made for something this big; just my .40 glow engines. Won't turn it over. I don't have much experience...

RE: Model Tech Yak 54 Build

I've been working six days a week and don't have much time to work on it. It's pretty much done except for the power system. I've been having limited success with my engine. The carb that came...

RE: Model Tech Yak 54 Build

I couldn't wait to get the engine running so today I bolted it on and ran some basic fuel and ignition lines. It took a bit to get it going since the carb on this cheap Chinese engine doesn't have a...

RE: Model Tech Yak 54 Build

I think you're right about the sensitivity being an indication of tail heavy. Have you tried hands off inverted? That's what I have always been told is the best way to know if it's balanced. It...

RE: Model Tech Yak 54 Build

I found out this model has been discontinued, hence the closeout pricing. I think it may not have been a big seller because it's small for the class it's advertised in. Especially the wing span. ...
