RE: Diesels GO!

One of the things I love about Diesel trucks (and cars), how easy it is increase their output. Like my 1994 Chevy K1500 came from the factory with 180HP. When I'm done (exhaust, gauges, chip, WMI,...

RE: Atomization Pressure

Now that I think about it, you are correct, the holes do expand. Even with tiny holes, that could cause the same problem you described about bigger holes. Also, I am not thinking of a plane engine,...

RE: Boost air temp?

I'm not trolling, or baiting, just gathering info.

I'd love to have a diesel with forced induction, just like my truck, but my truck has fuel injection, timing is fixed. The model diesel...

RE: Boost air temp?

Don't ask me what it is, all I've found is the name and application on another site, found with google. May the site have had incorrect info? BTW, it was explaining the system YS engines use, and...

RE: Atomization Pressure

I've been thinking about this more lately, and reading the info here, a conventional injected model diesel is not possible. Think about it, having .0003" holes would never work. With heat, metal...

How hot

If one were to make a supercharged 4 stroke diesel, how hot would the IAT need to be in order to mess up timing?

Boost air temp?

On a passive crankcase supercharged 4 stroke, how much hotter would the intake air be? Thanks.

RE: Davis Diesel 3.3 T-Maxx

I know mine were stripped, but that may have been from them comming loose so many times.

RE: Davis Diesel 3.3 T-Maxx

If you find that has happened, get a new mount, and threadlock the screws in. I haven't stripped a single spur since.

RE: Davis Diesel 3.3 T-Maxx

Wiggle the engine on the mount. It may have come loose. I had this happen on my 3.3, on glow. The torque and vibration of the engine eventually loosened up the screws used to mount the engine, and...

Funny thing is, your Chevy shouldn't even have coils.

RE: Pickup truck Thread

Look for a real AM General (HUMVEE) block. You can get drop-ins from Kennedy Diesel for about 7K.

Pickups, I have a 1994 Chevy K1500 with the 6.5 diesel. Great truck, wouldn't trade it for a...

RE: Atomization Pressure

I have given the topic of model Diesel injection much thought in the last month, and have realized I am way over-thinking this. All we need to do is take a rotary pump like the Stanadyne DB-2 found...

RE: diesel st-1

I know this thread is a little old, but the mis-information needs corrected. Diesel R/C's are called diesel as they use compression for ignition. They cannot run on pump diesel. They run on model...

RE: Cold start assist

I wasn't actually thinking along the lines of putting it into the contrapiston, but rather intake air stream, but the contrapiston is a good idea.

RE: diesel conversion for nitro motors is it worth it?

You don't have to go to Davis Diesel at all. From what I've seen, he'd be the last person I'd go to. As stated, he is very unfriendly, has questionable methods, and degrades/flames people. There...

RE: Diesel ST1 ??

This topic is really getting old. There was a thread on this very page (1 of Traxxas MT's) a day or two ago about a Davis Diesel converted Revo. Check out this forum's Diesel forums for more Diesel...

RE: 4 Stroke Fuel Injection

It looks more to me that fuel is injected right before the intake valve. I'd think that if it where DI, it'd be centered on the head, were a glow plug normally goes. Look how the intake comes in on...

RE: 4 Stroke Fuel Injection

That's just a dummy plug with shims under it to adjust compression. I really don't think that this injection is much of an advancement from carbs on Diesels. For Diesel injection, you need to...

RE: RC Sled Pulling

Dirt and carpet are really nothing alike. I, myself, pull on carpet. My Big Rigs pull 100-120 LBS on carpet. The same rigs on dirt would be lucky to pull 50 LBS. I really perfer carpet. Carpet...

RE: What type of semi trucks do you like better?

They really can't help it. Most company trucks are governed between 60 and 70 MPH. If I'm governed at 65 and the guy in front of me is 60-63, I'm gonna pass him because for every hour I don't, is...

RE: Atomization Pressure

I've been giving this topic much thought lately. I really think the concept would have to be proven, and all prototypes done on 4 strokes because there is so much engine modification needed on a 2...

RE: Substitute for Ether

Also, the 6.2/6.5 use a chain from the crank to the cam, and a gear from the cam to the IP. And, you do know that diesel's don't need glow plugs? Some 1:1 "real world" Diesels use no starting help...
