An engine is an air pump. If you restrict the amount of air it can pump you will reduce the power output of the engine. Not to mention excessive heat build up.

A friend gave me a Saito 56 that has been sitting for a couple of years. Put it in the crock pot to free it up. Put the plug back in & noticed no compression. Had already adjusted the valves so...

60's not a bad bird to learn on. Very stable. Easy to see. Excellent autorotation characteristics. Throw on a pair of woodies & keep heliproz on speed dial.

because it will go back to it's previously sprung state. In addition you are setting yourself up for a broken clutch which significantly shortens a flight.

sounds like the clutch is sprung. Don't try to "adjust" it. Get a new one
