ESC just sputters...

I had a castle creations 25 that initially worked well but after 5 flights would start to "sputter" the motor back and forth real fast if the esc/motor were run (motor was himax 20325) and warmed up....

It is an align RCE-BL35X that is rated for 6v at 2.0 amps max. I just noticed that 1500mah pack was rated at 12C so I plugged up the 2200 megatech 18C battery and still the same thing.
