The stock threads in the axels are 2.6mm.You can use bolts and cut the heads off but the long bolts are hard to find in that size. That's why the 3mm mod is preferred.Drill em out and tap to 3mm.LONG...

Put packing tape in the chassis and the ESC and use shoe goo. Seal the edges w/servo tape so dirt won't get under the ESC.
