I appreciate the input. I'm leaning more towards the 2.4 stuff but rx's are more expensive and there seems to be a lot of arguments over how sensitive the 2.4 stuff is to battery charge. No! I am not...

I really thought that 2.4 would be looked at as an alternative, not as an imediate replacement of 72mhz. Not quite the response I expected. I appreciate the input.

has anyone bought or plan to buy a regular transmitter? I am a newer pilot and the ss stuff seems expensive so I was just wondering. Thank you for your opinions.
