RE: Alloy / fibre tube fuse frame?

Interesting method, thanks for sharing. I just came across another one I like (though not very scale): Cut fuse formers like you would when making a build-up frame, but only the ones perpendicular to...

RE: Alloy / fibre tube fuse frame?

Well, there are various reasons for various methods. I could carve the model from foam, smack some glass on and have a real nice model. But I'm a builder first, flyer second. I like the building...

RE: Alloy / fibre tube fuse frame?

True, but I used this on alloy exhausts and manifolds before. Doesn't seem like 2k to me.

RE: Alloy / fibre tube fuse frame?

Thanks for all the input. I think the biscuit idea is worth a try, and maybe the aluminium solder paste I bought a little while ago.

The plane is the Laird LC-DW 500 Super Solution (ah, that...

Alloy / fibre tube fuse frame?

Hi,

I'm in the middle of drawing a 1930's racer model. I have built a lot of planes before, some scale, but for this one I'm considering something weird; a scale copy of the original tube...

RE: Electric Q500

I thought about using 2 packs, but unfortunately the rules state you can only use one. It´s back to the drawingboard... I´m designing the wing, now, using depron ribs and a fibreglass skin.. Not...

RE: Electric Q500

Yep, cooling is certainly the key. I will indeed lengthen the nose in my design, and/or move the wing back a bit. I would like the battery to be in the CG (or almost). I know the weight doesn´t...

RE: Electric Q500

Smart design, I like it! But I´m afraid it won´t be accepted under the Dutch rules. I do have another plan to reduce drag (frontal area) and make it turn easier. The Dutch rules say: The fuse needs...

Designing EQ500

Hi lads,

I´m considering to join the Dutch electric quickie 500 league, seems like a lot of fun for little money. I can of course buy an ARF and convert it, but designing and building are a fun...

RE: Electric Q500

Hi lads,

nice plane! I'm considering to join the Dutch EQ500 racing league, it's a slight bit different than the rules international rules, but very good competition. Motors are limited to two...

RE: JETMACH - TURBINE TRAINER BUILDING

Oops, old topic. Hope people are still contributing... Well, last post is 2010, so my hopes are up! I´ve started building my own version of Schreckling´s TK-50, with a 52mm Garrett and 12 instead...

RE: Tower Pro Mg996

I'm considering the MG996 as well, but what would you recommend for 'a little more long time reliability'?

Thanks,

Hugo

RE: Moving wing / CG forward on EMHW Funtana

Thanks guys. Moving the CG is the object of the excersize, moving the wing is just the way of accomplishing that.

Moving wing / CG forward on EMHW Funtana

Hi,

I'm restoring a half built / half crashed EMHW Funana S. A 2 meter span Funtana which will get a 26cc ZG26 SC gasser engine. Now this gasser is fairly heavy, but it is counterbalanced by 3...

RE: Any recent experiences with FLT26 gasser from HC?

Hi Charley,

thanks for the reply. 2q's:
Who is/are RCS?
What size prop does your engine swing at what RPM?

Cheers,

Any recent experiences with FLT26 gasser from HC?

Hi,

I'm looking into buying this engine:

It's dirt cheap, and...

RE: Hangar 9 Funtana 40

Well, yesterday and today I had the guts to do the mod myself:
I cut the covering off, I'm changing the design anyway:

They break out...

RE: Hangar 9 Funtana 40

Thanks, I'll do the proper mod. Despite the fact that this thread has grown into the 'wingmod' topic, I'd like to post another q, just about the X50 (or S40 for that matter):
I have 5 servos, all...

RE: Hangar 9 Funtana 40

First of all; thanks Tony, for the how-to document. I'm sure I'll do the fix, just have to find the nerve to cut my new plane up again. I already sawed through the brandnew fuse, to re-inforce the...

RE: Sig Hog Bipe Build

While studying the plans, I find it shows no side thrust. Do you all fly without side thrust? Mine will get the usual .91 fourstroke.

Cheers,

Hugo

RE: Sig Hog Bipe Build

Yeeeeee! I'm finally starting my build, which will differ a bit from the standard. I have the plans and manual, but I'll source and cut the material here in the Netherlands. The kit sets me back...

RE: Sporty scale biplane for 15cc 4-stroke.

After some discussions on the Dutch RC model forum, I've redesigned the bipe. Here's a CAD dwg of both the assembly and some parts.

Please feel free to comment!

RE: Sporty scale biplane for 15cc 4-stroke?

Thanks, Bruce. I've taken a look at them, and both have a certain appeal. Then again, I'm a bit strange in what I want, so I took many pictures and drew something up myself. Here it is, JPEG'ed form...

Sporty scale biplane for 15cc 4-stroke.

Hi,

I bought a 15cc (.91) four stroke to fit to a Hog Bipe. But I enjoy scratch building too much to buy the kit, and I don't realy like the Hog's fuselage design. I like planes like the Super...
