RE: Top Flite Cessna 182 build

Hello all,

I went to my local club this past Saturday for some flying and noticed an almost completed TF Cessna 182 with a "free" sign on it. I'm a sucker for free planes so I loaded it up and...

RE: Club 40 Race in Huntsville, AL

Then I'll bring a pot of chili and couple of bags of Fritos. There's plenty of woods behind the field. Just watch out for the briars and poison ivy!

RE: Saito 100 as powerful as a Saito 125?

Could valve clearance or timing cause the engine to not acheive the desired 8800 to 9000rpms?

RE: DX6i NiCds and Charging Info Needs

George2005,

Did you find out if there is a circuit protection diode that keeps a field charger from sensing the Tx battery voltage? I would like to get rid of the wall wart charger and use my...

RE: Great Planes Spectra questions

Frank,

You could probably set up the sailplane with a dedicated battery for the receiver and servos, but I believe most people(myself included) are using the LiPo as a single power source for...

RE: Great Planes Spectra questions

Frank,

The motor I am using is an A2814-8 1100 kV, 350 watt. I don't know who makes it as it was packaged by my LHS. I imagine it is on of the china made motors because it was about half the...

RE: Great Planes Spectra questions

I just purchased a brushless motor for the Spectra. I'm guessing it should have a pretty good climb rate. The motor is rated at 350w 1100kV and it will be spinning an 11X8 folder. Battery is a 3s...

RE: Great Planes Spectra questions

Thanks Scaflock. I will check out the other forum. The ESC is for the stock brushed T600 motor. It does not have any markings on it. Maybe Great Planes will have some info.

Thanks Pete...

Great Planes Spectra questions

I recently acquired a Great Planes Spectra RTF, and I have a couple of questions. I would like to eliminate the 12oz NiCd brick and go with a 2s LiPo. This will shave about 8oz from the AUW(50 oz)...

RE: Vent tube length on a Saito 72

Thanks XJet. If the vent tube length is not an issue I may run it through the fuselage and exit near the tail wheel.

Vent tube length on a Saito 72

I recently purchased a Saito 72 for my Sig Mayhem 40. So far I love the combination. My only complaint is the vent tube covers the belly of the plane with oil. I have been considering running a...

RE: Great Planes Escapade .40 ARF

My cousin flew his Escapade today. He is using an OS 55AX and it weighs 5 lbs. It seemed to fly very well with short take offs and nice slow landings. He only flew twice because it was cold,...

RE: Recommend me a new plane!

Eganwp,

You might also check out the Sig Mayhem 40. It appears to meet most of your Criteria, however it leans heavier on the 3D side rather than sport. I have been flying one for a couple of...

RE: Sig Mayhem 3D ARF

I've got an Evolution 46 on my Mayhem 40. I've only flown the plane three times, mostly get it trimmed out but from what I could tell the 46 pulled it around pretty good. I am running a 12.25X3.75...

RE: Expo settings for a Mayhem 40

Squeaky Penguin,

I am considering a Saito 72 for my Mayhem. The Saito weighs less than the Evolution 46 that I am using now, so power to weight should be good. I am at 600 ft above sea level. ...

Thanks, Squeaky Penguin.

What motor are you running on your Mayhem 40? I have an Evolution 46 on mine right now but I am considering a Saito 4 stroke.

RE: Sig Kadet Mark II Build

glide,

I agree with TEBerg. Monokote or Ultracoat are much less hassle and if you happen to damage the covering it is very easy to fix.

I will try to get some pictures of the Mayhem...
