i am using o'donnell blue sport cold plugs. they seem to work good. i was using os 8's but kept killing them. i run 20% and havent had any issues running a cold plug. tower was having a sale on them...

you are correct on the location, around the starter shaft not the seal for the back plate and case that one is easy to replace.

I know i need a new back plate anyway so splitting the o ring is not really an issue to get it out. just trying to get it out with out ruining it to see the size and maybe find new ones.

it is a small o-ring about the size of those in the diffs. however if you have a machine shop and this fit is too tight for the diff o-rings then the slot may need to be expanded slightly. I will try...

the o-ring in question is the one inside that the shaft runs against. if the high temp sealer works for wearing then that would be good but usually those are for sedentary parts. both of my raze...
