Just a followup - I tested the receiver with a different esc and it doesnt work either, but the old AR6100e works on this one too.

Well my lipos are 4000mah 20C...so 80amps.

My brother inlaw got a VXL same time as me, so when his batteries arrive, I'll see how his go with my driving style. It's probably just me.

I don't think the sensor is malfunctioning, because the esc is too hot to touch when it shuts itself down.

Probably not the fastest, but bang for buck speed - get a Rustler VXL and some 3S lipos (and optional gearing). Will hit over 70mph easy....and is basically indestructable.

Yeah fair enough about the connectors, I guess as long as they are deans, powerpoles, ec3/5, traxxas or some other higher current connector, and you use it on all of your equipment, then it is fine....

You should be fine. I think you want 60-70 amps+ on a VXL system.

I have ordered 2 20C 4000mah 3S lipos, so 80amps, and I have no doubt they will be fine.

Thanks for the replies guys, it all makes sense now!

The packs are 20C 2200mah, so would only put out 44amps - I assume this is not quite enough for trucks.

Anyone know where I can buy good...
