RE: Nitroplanes Miss Dara Sneak Preview

The Miss Dara is now available from NitroPlanes. Most that already have it seem quite pleased. I've waited since the first of summer for its release but have to put it on the back burner for a little...

RE: Are the new Thunder Tiger 40s actually 46s?

Hi John, I havent seen many problems with the LG other than the obvious hard landing issue. Like Barry, I go over most structural joints in both the gear and firewall area but use thinned epoxy vs CA...

RE: Are the new Thunder Tiger 40s actually 46s?

Sitting here getting ready to give Hobbico a call and the UPS man shows up with a package from Hobbico. Looks like a new engine as a replacement from them which is great. No explanation other than...

RE: Are the new Thunder Tiger 40s actually 46s?

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, I know I sure did.

Friday the 23 has come and gone yet no word from Hobbico, hopefully it is just a lag from the holiday. I'll send them a reminder...

RE: Are the new Thunder Tiger 40s actually 46s?

I'm not sure why they need so much time. They email they sent seemed rather generic and some of the corespondence I've had seemed geared more towards actual warranty repairs than the very specific...

RE: Are the new Thunder Tiger 40s actually 46s?

Partial update. Had an Email from Hobbico today, they have received the engine and gave an estimated complete date of 11-23-12.

RE: Are the new Thunder Tiger 40s actually 46s?

Hi John,
Had a great day!!! Perfect weather and a good turn out considering it was the last round of the year.

By memory I think it was Tom Craig, Jerry Ditmar, Charlie Poulton and Rolando...

RE: Are the new Thunder Tiger 40s actually 46s?

Hi John,
I cant say about the use of premeasured amounts of fuel as it would have to be brought before the rules commitee, I can however tell you that your old K&B 40 is NOT allowed for use in...

RE: Are the new Thunder Tiger 40s actually 46s?

The larger case/head gap clearance is what gave my plane away. Once you see it you will actually be able to easily spot one even from quite a distance.
I still have the original box in which my...

RE: Are the new Thunder Tiger 40s actually 46s?

And I would think Hobbico should be aware of this by now and was a little surprised to find the tech I was dealing with knew little of the problem. As I said above, I'm unsure if the tech was...

RE: Are the new Thunder Tiger 40s actually 46s?

I had a phone conversation with Hobbico's tech support this morning and it revealed some interesting information. By reading the thread here one would assume the 40/46 mismatch to be a somewhat...

RE: Are the new Thunder Tiger 40s actually 46s?

I sent a note about the situation to Hobbico yesterday morning. They want to have a look at the engine but made no mention of awareness of a possible production issue on their part. I'll get the...

RE: Are the new Thunder Tiger 40s actually 46s?

Bozarth,
Good question. The answer is both yes and no. My plane is faster than most of the others but I believe in fairness so is my ST.40 powered back-up plane. On the other hand, the TT.40/46...

RE: Are the new Thunder Tiger 40s actually 46s?

RE: Texas RC Planes Piper Pawnee??

I hope what Texas RC offers has a good rep as the TWM version is a good bit more money wise but I will look in to that one as well, Thanks for the tip.

RE: Large Revolver Help

I'm currently running a hyperion ZS 4025-14 @ 370 Kv swinging a 16x10 apc prop on a 6S 5000mah pack. Decent performance but I'm only using 1500 of the motors available 2100 watts. I'm planning on...

RE: Large Revolver Help

I'm flying mine on electric so I cant really help much in the glow area but I would do a .90 size if you want good performance.
As for the landing gear, I simply taped over the blind nuts in the...
