Hyper 8 port...what are you needle settings?

My HSN is at 2 1/2 out from closed and the LSN is at 1 turn in from FLUSH with the ball collar. I had the same break in problems....need to lean it out a bunch to get it running right.

Badboy, the settings from the factory are way rich. Almost too rich to keep the engine running. After much reading and a couple of calls to Ofna here's where my needles ended up.....

pls post your hyper21 8 port problems here from breakin to tuning and on..

I have this engine in my Savage. It was a real ***** to break in! The tight sleeve made starting a nightmare for the first 5 tanks. The needles come from the factory WAY rich and the instructions...

Ofna 8 port starting options??

You have to stick with the pull start. No other options when the Hyper is in a Savage.....the engine is great, but the pull start is an engineering disaster.

Then just get a Savage and sell it on Ebay when the MGT comes out. That's what I did. You may lose like $100, but at least you'll have something in the meantime.

Hey Guys...the LSN is flush, and I haven't touched it from the factory. I've only messed with the HSN. Right now, the HSN is open 4.5 turns from closed as described by Ofna's Manual.....

The Ofna Break-in calls for 3.5 turns OUT from flush on the low end. My low end came FLUSH from the factory, not 3.5 out. Do I turn it out the 3.5 or leave it at factory? Thanks.
