New to RC Helis, advice please

Trust me, nothings worse than crashing when you didn't really even get to have the fun of flying. A lot of people quit the hobby like that.

Imagine how satisfying it will be to go out flying and...

New to RC Helis, advice please

They are pretty difficult to fly.
I haven't tried the CSM sim, but if the basic problem you're having is that you can't keep it steady because you really don't know instantly what control inputs to...

Sceadu or Raptor V2 50?

Thanks for the replies, I decided on the Sceadu since my worthless LHS doesn't stock parts for either, except for a very few Rappy parts, not enough to be worth buying the Rap just for that. I'll...

Raptor 50 V2

Now would be the time to buy, not only are they available, they come with a free set of carbon blades! Although I think the blades ship separately.

I have a TT36 which I like a lot, all the...

Can I take off the training gear?

Nose-in was definitely one of the harder things for me to learn. I'm just now at the point where I'm confident doing FF-hover transitions and landings nose-in. IMO the earlier and better you learn...

Can I start my Raptor with a drill?

IMO a starter for a heli is about the most worthless thing to have if you have a good cordless drill. 12v. battery's are good for quick charging, but even then I just use a Sirius with the cigarette...

Thinking of buying a Helicopter,But

That is true, crashes do vary widely.
Perhaps 50 could be thought of as more realistic.
You must have already had extra sets of blades to repair a 20 ft. fall from hover for $18. Discounting...

Krylon Fusion

I'd say it would be a good idea to add a clearcoat if you're worried about durability. Would protect much better than the built in resistance in any paint.

RC Helicopters

It might help to think of it this way:

The right stick of your controller is the cyclic, this is two servos working together (in a normal heli, not CCPM), that move your rotor head and allow you...

Thinking of buying a Helicopter,But

Don't get me wrong, this is one of the funnest hobbies out there. I'm not discouraging you from getting into it, but you really should consider how far money stretches in this hobby (not very)

Sceadu or Raptor V2 50?

I'm looking to get another heli kit to build and trick out while I'm practicing w/ my Raptor 30. I want a bigger machine so the Sceadu and Raptor 50's seem to be the best fits for me, I never...
