That makes the most sense of anything i've heard yet.
It is like having a micro electrical power reserve.
So, double the voltage of 4s, ~30V and someone said about 1000uF.

I'm sure you know this already but definately do NOT rig it up to plug it directly into the mains. It will destroy the charger and the plug and maybe even the batteries plugged into the charger.
