well...

First sucsess. Poped out of mold just perfect. There was 7 coats of release wax (no PVA) and 3 coats of glass. Have to polish the molds to get nice wet look. If it goes so good next time...

nope, it didn´t. I know it should have. It did with the left over epoxy though, but not with the mold.


First time with epoxy . Don´t recall these problems with polyester. Never used PVA or...

i´ tried the slicing thing and it works fairly well. Juice, do you know, is it possible to loose these slice lines after the parts are joined?

i´ll give it a try. So basicly if i can slice it one time i can slice several times to follow the contour of bottom. If the slices are in short distances it should look like nice...

...seems gelcoat needs more time to dry then i assumed. Anyway gonna cover tomorrow. I tought i just put one layer of light cloth and then mat.

gel-coat on. now have to wait until it drys a bit and then start to cover with glass.

Yes building cowl for my extra, and as you noticed this is a good start to practice. I`ve done wheelpants for my extra. these turned out well, so i´m moving to bigger parts step by step.

The fuse is regular glass and a good coat of paint on it, i don`t think it dents easily. But as i read between the lines, your suggestion is not to use original because i most likely...

yes he ment to use the plug as the male mold. And yes, the outside of detail will come rough and needs a lot of sanding.

Friend died in real sailplane crash

Last saturday my friend, 30 y old guy came into crash. He was doing some aerobatics with sailplane when left wing broke apart. He jumped out but was too low to open the parachute.
Was nice guy.
