When my Dad was young, I won"t say just when... but he used to put crapaper streamers on horse flys and turn them loose at school. Lots of colored streamers flying around the classroom...

I have seen a two piece sheet metal mount that was screwed between the screws and the mount. Works quite well if you can bend the metal.

What fuel are you using. Sig 35% would be a good suggestion. I think mine was about 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 turns on the needle.

According to the full sized plan, the distance from the TE to the CL of the elevator hinge is 3". From LE to the back of the motor cutout on the mount is 3/4". Airfoil is 1-1/16"

Mounted landing gear and wing tip skid. Begining to cut monocoat for trim. Added my very old froom spinner to help get balance where it needs to be and weight is now at 9 Oz.

Tips are covered and getting ready for trim. Going to use chrome to simulate a canopy and also for trim on wings etc. Need to install elevator and flaps along with control linkage first I think.

The cylinder pattern I provided was the Dale Kirn/Jim Wade 1/2A Proto record engine spec. from 1976. It was a high rev capable Tee Dee on very high Nitro fuel.
