RE: RCM&E Matador 60 four stroke ??

Edit: - just saw your last post AJC. I'll leave the pictures below anyway because it's worth looking at a few more times!

AJC - if it's not too late for a response, here is a photo from...

RE: VK Nieuport 17

For rigging and controls I use wire fishing trace that's nylon coated - never had a problem with interference. It gives the look of metal wire but slides easily. Crimp it to terminate it in the...

RE: DH82 Tiger Moth from Bryant/Elite plans

Here are the parts from RCMW:

The wheel covers are handy - the rest could be scratch built but I'm keen to...

RE: DH82 Tiger Moth from Bryant/Elite plans

Sounds like just the medicine! I'm planning some sly trips to the flying field before and after work. It's on the way so I figure it will be a great way to start the working day....

Slow build but...

RE: DH82 Tiger Moth from Bryant/Elite plans

Rob - I saw your build log a while ago, very nice! Brian Taylor designed some great models and they all fly well. My father used to be the authorised distributor for Brian Taylor in Australia....

RE: DH82 Tiger Moth from Bryant/Elite plans

Here's a photo I took of the full-sized aircraft that I'm modelling:

Fairly simple colour scheme but plenty of scale...

RE: DH82 Tiger Moth from Bryant/Elite plans

Hi Bob - I guess it's not very exciting compared to some of the amazing builds on this forum but it's grass roots modelling for me and something I really enjoy. The tiger is just the thing for summer...

RE: DH82 Tiger Moth from Bryant/Elite plans

I spent a happy few hours on the weekend making small pieces of spruce out of a very large piece! I had a 55mm x 120mm and 1.5m long piece of 'spar cut' spruce. I'm fortunate in having some handy...

RE: DH82 Tiger Moth from Bryant/Elite plans

Just ordered the vac formed parts from RCMW in the UK:

DH82 66" vac formed parts

The tank is the main part - I was going to try scratch building but at around $13 for the whole vac parts...

RE: DH82 Tiger Moth from Bryant/Elite plans

I started with the tailplane:

I used cyano to glue most of the parts in. The edges that are eventually...

I haven't built one from those plans but I built a second one from a kit plan. Very straightforward build. The MAN plans are the originals. it doesn't need more than a standard .40cu to give it great...

RE: Can you run real diesel fuel?

Thanks for the responses. I know distillate is not a good fuel - I was thinking of a non-modelling application where distillate is the only available fuel. There are a lot of issues with such a small...

Can you run real diesel fuel?

I think I know the answer but is there any one who has run a small motor on true distillate (diesel) fuel? I know it's poor quality fuel and likely to ruin a model engine but I have a professional...

RE: Bentley BR2 Rotary drawings?

The Rotec engines are beautifully made (I've visited the factory) but unfortunately they don't match the hp/RPM needed to swing a 100" prop. The early rotaries were unreliable but they were very...
