Hello, All. I'm just starting out on...

Hello, All.

I'm just starting out on 4-strokes, although I've been flying C/L and RC since the early 70's. I just got a brand new FA-40a today, and I've had an older FA-40 for about a year, but...

RE: Vibrating again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I know you're not going to like this suggestion, but I'd just disassemble the head and driveline completely (That includes removing the ball links from their pushrods). Then, give everything,...

RE: Voyager E landing gear: Where to buy?

$16.99 for aluminum skids?!?!?

I just went down to Ace Hardware, bought a 36" piece of aluminum, and cut four 9" pieces to make the skids for a couple of Coronas. Much cheaper...

RE: Brushless motor system not working

I'm using a Hacker speed controller with my 16/15/3. I don'r remember which one, though. Works fine for me.

RE: Motor and battery for the Corona 120

I've used the Trinity Speed Gems motors with great success. I like their 17T Double (same turns as the Atomic Force), and I've used their 16T double also. They're about $10 more than the Atomic...

RE: MEGA 16513 or Astroflight 020 ?

Freak,

I'm not saying that it's a sure thing. You'll probably not be an unlucky one who gets a motor that breaks. It's just one of theose things where it might happen. So, just enjoy what...

RE: Fusion 7 Motor Anyone ???

Flyingfish,

See the post earlier about the change to a new construction of the Atomic Force. I and others have bought the new AF motors, and found that the new ones do not have adjustable...

RE: MEGA 16513 or Astroflight 020 ?

My Mega gave me MUCH more power than my Fusion motor. I'd say I hover right arounf half stick, either below or above depending on battery time. Like I said, I've read a few posts about the Astro...

Grease/Oil points?

Hi All,

I'm ready to fly the Hawk/Raven that I bought through the classifieds here. I downloaded the manual from Century for the Raven, but it doesn't give me that much for lube points. Where...

RE: ATOMIC FORCE motor Sucks!

Again, Skyhawk, the old motors that could be timed sounded good. But the new motor that Kyosho's pushing isn't very good. And, after cutting the comm and running it in, I doubt that Roffee'd take it...

RE: MEGA 16513 or Astroflight 020 ?

Again, I've not flown the Astro. With the Mega, I get about 12 minutes of hover with an 8 cell 3300 pack.

RE: MEGA 16513 or Astroflight 020 ?

I haven't tried both, but I use the 16/15/3 and love it. On another site (ahem!), there've been some posts about the Astro Flight motors failing catastrophically. I'm glad I went with the Mega.

RE: ATOMIC FORCE motor Sucks!

I know what you mean. I got the same P.O.S. motor from Roffee. I'd heard on some other forum that Kyosho was cheaping out their motors, but didn't think it would happen on the AF. Now I know...

RE: Fusion 7 motor Question!!

It should cog to a degree... Just make sure that the screws holding the motor to the crutch are not too long or the screws will scrape and eventually cut the motor windings.

What battery pack...

RE: 'Beefing up' the stock crutch

Something that I did before I assembled my first crutch, and I'd recommend you do, is to take a piece of paper (I used a blank page in my Corona building manual) and trace out the crutch parts. That...

Hawk spares?

Hi All,

I just bought a Hawk/Raven from the classifieds here. It started off as a Hawk, but got some upgrades from a Raven (i.e. CCPM and other stuff). I got a crash kit from the local hobby...

RE: max-6 is out ~~~electric in~~~now i need more help

I've done a couple of 110+ LMHes converted to electric. I flew on both 7 and 8 cell packs. The shorter gas blades will work okay, I get about 8-10 minutes on a GP3300 eight cell pack. A little...

RE: I think some things wrong

Don't worry, this is normal for the Corona. The first time I did a run up and tried tracking my blades I noticed this. It has something to do with the gyroscopic precession. When you lift off into...

C/G point for a delta?

Hi All, I built a .049 delta wing about 10-12 years ago from some foam cores a friend gave me. I didn't keep anything that said where the balance point is, and I want to convert it to electric. ...

RE: New Review: GWS Stearman PT-17

Watched the video. Looks nice. But, although I saw lots of loops, i didn't see any rolls or roll combination maneuvers. How is the roll rate of this plane?

Conversion using Mega 16/15/3

Hi. Was wondering if anyone could tell me what pinion and what gearbox/gear ratio I could use to convert a Midwest Cherokee .40 using a Mega 16/15/3. Is this possible? Feasable?

Well, I just cleaned off some old sticker residue from a couple of blades. Strange as it seems, I used vegetable cooking oil from the wife's pantry. It worked great! This is somethig I read about...
