oval carpet anyone?

Just curious if anyone in this forum is familiar with oval carpet racing? I just picked up a car to run at one of my local tracks and I'm seeking some info. It's a pan chassis, but....the front isn't...

RE: Monster Gt VS. T maxx

it's all in how you drive it and what you plan on doing with it. I run with a few guys and they all have different trucks. The few with Monster Pirate's go through spur gears. One guy with a titan...

RE: Official Rock Crawling Thread

From what I understand, grooving stock tires and cutting stock rims narrower will help tires bite better and locking at least the rear diff. helps loads with traction. I haven't done anything to mine...

RE: Tuber project

The measurement I was referring to was the articulation. I should've been more specific. 75 degrees is pretty good. I tried to solder a few pieces of brass together at work today and I impressed...

RE: Tuber project

Very Cool!!! Not sure if I'm late with this, but here's my .02. I think that an orange chassis would definately make those nice shocks stick out more. Silver wouldn't be a color of my choice, for no...

RE: Tuber project

It's all starting to come together now(in my head anyways) I'm gonna have to grab that bronco body that HPI makes. This is the particular one I wanted to use for the tube chassis. More of a replica...

RE: Dying Wheels??????

It would probably be easier to buy the wheels separate from the tires. The dye I have needs to be boiled. Tires might come unglued while trying to set the dye. Not sure what melted glue would do to...

RE: Tuber project

I've got a few more questions for you, if you don't mind? Are you gonna run an 8 shock setup? How did you know how wide to make the chassis, and how long? When you mounted the links, how did you know...

RE: Official Rock Crawling Thread

Hey Maxx..I went over to clod talk and there are some nice looking trucks over there. YOURS INCLUDED!! I'm thinking I want to try to tackle a tube clod over the winter and the major question I have...

RE: Official Rock Crawling Thread

I'm not sure, but I don't think one is "hands down" better than the next. There are quite a few choices. I liked the Ripper chassis from www.thundertechracing.com but I'm hearing more about the...

RE: Tuber project

I'd like to know what you are soldering with also. I haven't done much soldering and wouldn't mind if you threw some helpful hints out there. I was told to get a "good" soldering gun. Not sure, but...

RE: tube chassis info please

If you plan on getting an aftermarket chassis for the clod, you might not want to invest in a brand new clod. The only thing you'd most likely be using is the front/rear gearboxes/axles. If you go to...

RE: Now it's not going anywhere!!

I would check the 2-speed as mentioned by DAGASS, also....do you remember how you put the clutch together? Might have the shoes backwards. I can't remember if this is possible with the HPI set-up,...

RE: RS4 3 SS NOT STARTING!!! PLEASE HELP

Next in line from having fuel should be a glow plug wrench. Simply b/c you are new to nitro and you'll probably most definately flood it. You can also use a 5/16" socket. A deep socket is usable, but...

RE: RS4 3 type ss WHAT ELSE DO I NEED????

Yes it's true. With stock gearing if you increase the rollout of the tire then you'll travel a further distance. You'll lose a bit of low end power though. Instead of investing in another set of...

RE: RS4 3 SS NOT STARTING!!! PLEASE HELP

BTW--the instructions tell you to idle through the first couple of tanks of fuel. This is tough to do b/c it's usually set at a real rich setting. I successfully idled through 1 tank with the...

RE: RS4 3 SS NOT STARTING!!! PLEASE HELP

Pull the glow plug out and check to make sure it's glowing good. After that, when you prime the carb look at the fuel and make sure it's staying in the line. Sometimes if there's an air leak the...
